While I am unsure if either Aang or Toph built their respective memorial statues (Toph probably did tho), I think in the duration of their friendship they’d have gotten into contests with each other, not so much to compete but to learn from one another. And because they’re bros.

Edit: omg I am so tired of reading LOL S2PID TOPH IS BLIND. People, she can “see” through vibrations, remember? And as for knowing her own appearance, blind people can “see” faces they touch, meaning Toph probably has an idea what she looks like, at the very least where her eyes, nose, and mouth go. If she can sandbend Ba Sing Se as a kid, she’s more than capable of building statues as an adult. And that’s that. 

I’m just gonna leave this here while I feels in a corner.

Aang never told Katara of his disappointment that their firstborn wasn’t an airbender, but that didn’t stop him from loving his daughter too much.

After about a month-long (unintentional) hiatus, I’m back and working on your requests, starting with Kya and Aang (I’m sorry I didn’t stick to the original suggestion, that drabble was just in my head too strongly).

I’m gonna try to post more frequently but I just wanted to let you guys know I’m not dead and to thank you for being patient :D

I think Aang eventually regretted doing this when Bumi refused to come down.

Aang died when he was 67. Iroh II is maybe in his twenties based on his position in the United Forces, could be older. Aang’s been dead 17-18 years so he would have been around when Iroh was a toddler.

Bad idea to expose a toddler to open flame, but Aang’s never been one to walk on the safe side.

I wonder if he lived long enough to see Iroh bend.

With a master waterbender for a mother, a healer waterbender for a sister, a rare airbender for a brother, and the freaking Avatar for a father, I wonder how it’s like being Bumi.

As if being the middle child wasn’t enough.

edit: ok just shut it for like a second. Bumi has Uncle Sokka & Aunt Suki & Grandpa Hakoda & Grand-Uncle Bato & Great-Grandma Kanna (assuming she’s alive) & (prolly) Auntie Mai & Auntie Ty Lee & all those non-benders who are likely crucial to his dynamic personality, but keep in mind that they are relatives/friends. The point of this is to make you think how hard must it have been for a little kid to feel alienated from his immediate nuclear family. I’m glad to see there are those who actually get this and aren’t all HE HAS AN UNCLE SOKKA DUH because omg that is neither here nor there

edit²: I’m glad some of you commented on why Katara and Toph’s panels are about who they “ended up with”; I nearly didn’t post this for the same reason. As a teeny explanation though: 1) I couldn’t think of anything Katara would want to ask her future self as much as that question, 2) Toph saying “Am I still awesome?” or other variants were considered but sounded a lot less funny than that-troll-question, and 3) I don’t function particularly well at 6 am and was in no way expecting it to get more than a few notes so I went ahead and posted it anyway, 4) Even if you say your suggestion is better or funnier etc, this has already been done and published and there’s nothing we can do about it.
